The effect of information technology capabilities and resources of the organization on competitive advantage and financial performance

In most of international organization, managers and organizational leaders can enhance and improve the performance of their organizations On the other hand, one of the most important factors in a dynamic business environment is to achieve new advantages flexible to market conditions. In such a situation, having effective and efficient information is the only factor that can make organizations and managers successful. Therefore the current research has tried to identify the impact of capabilities and resources of information systems on gaining competitive advantage and enhancing financial performance in the banking industry. This research is based upon practical purpose and nature of data collection is based on Descriptive survey method. The populations of this research have been composed of managers of Melli Bank branches in Tehran, the number of which is reported 514. From the statistical population, 220 samples were selected through cluster random sampling and Cochran method and the questionnaires were distributed among them. And analyzed using structural equation modeling and AMOS software. Content validity method was used in this research in order to determine the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, and it was determined that the questionnaire has the necessary validity. Also the Cronbach’s Alpha scales showed that the questionnaire is reliable. The results of examining 9 hypothesis, showed that, IT Human, knowledge and Relationship Resources have a positive and significant effect on the strategic planning capabilities of the organization. Also strategic planning capabilities of the organization have a positive and significant effect on Tactical Deployment of IT Projects and Firm entrepreneurship. On the other hand, it was cleared that, Tactical Deployment of IT Projects was efficient to Firm entrepreneurship and Firm entrepreneurship and IT Competitive Advantage have positive and significant effect on Business Financial Performance.
