Today in our country for some reasons, such as population growth, and consequently the increasing need for tourism and on the other hand the increasing use of transportation networks, especially land transportation network, the need to expand and grow other transportation systems for tourists is felt more than before. In this study, the effect of various transportation networks on attracting foreign tourists was investigated.
This research is applied in terms of purpose, survey in terms of method, and descriptive-analytical in terms of data collection. Library and field methods were used to collect information in this research. The statistical population of this study was the managers of the road and tourism sector (in the two organizations of transportation and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage) who were 1420 people. The statistical sample size was 302 using Cochran's formula. The sampling method was stratified random. A researcher-made questionnaire, consisting of 32 questions, designed to assess the role of transportation networks in the country on attracting foreign tourists was a tool to collect information and data required in this study.
The results showed that the air transport network with a coefficient of 0.646, land with a coefficient of 0.632, rail with a coefficient of 0.592, and sea with a coefficient of 0.340 had the greatest impact on attracting foreign tourists, respectively.
Transportation network (Land, Air, Rail and Sea), as one of the important components of the tourism industry, can be effective in attracting tourists and the flow of tourism in tourism industry. Tourism and the transportation network often have interactions with each other and it is very difficult to separate them.
