Acceptance and Commitment on Psychological Well-being of Social Anxiety in High School Girl Students
The main goal of the present study is to evaluate the effectiveness of admission and commitment therapy on psychological well-being and reduce the symptoms of social anxiety disorder among female high school students with social phobia. This research is a pre-test and post-test study and the statistical population is female students with social phobia. The research sample consisted of 30 high school female students with social phobia who were selected by multistage random sampling method and randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. Each group was divided into 15 individuals. Acceptance method and treatment commitment in the experimental group were performed twice and two weeks a week. The instruments used in this research were psychological well-being scale (PWB) and social phobia inventory (SPIN). In this research, covariance analysis was used to test the hypotheses. The results showed that the acceptance and commitment treatment method was effective on psychological well-being and reduction of symptoms of social anxiety disorder. Therefore, acceptance and commitment can be used along with other methods for the treatment of social anxiety disorder.
