Evaluation and comparison of job satisfaction of public and private sector employees in Tehran

Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare job satisfaction between public and private sector employees. This research is based on quantitative information, questionnaire completion, and statistical analysis and has been done in three steps. For this purpose, after reviewing the research background and other studies in this regard, a questionnaire was prepared based on the JDI model. After distributing 210 questionnaires, 140 questionnaires from 7 government departments and organizations and private companies were completed and summarized. The results of this study showed that in general, job satisfaction is higher among public sector employees than in the private sector. The highest impact factor is related to the factors of leadership style and salary and merit. Job satisfaction in the public sector is higher than 2.5 in the sense that public sector employees are more satisfied and in the private sector is lower than the average of 2.5 in the sense that job satisfaction is lower among private-sector employees.
