Conceptology and case study of Fitna with emphasis on verse 25 of Surah Anfal
Understanding some verses of Quran is sometimes difficult due to the existence of lexical whose conceptual circle is widespread. Verse 25 of Anfal Sura is also one of these verses that various interpretations have been expressed around it. The beginning of verse »And fear an affliction[1]« and also »which may not smite those of you in particular who are unjust[2]« contain ambiguities that have drawn the attention of commentators. This research has been organized with the aim of clarifying the meaning of the verse and investigating the existing ambiguities with regard to the interpretation opinions of the parties[3] in a descriptive-analytical way. Studies show that: sedition has a common semantic concept and a set of examples, which is under the general meaning of it. The meaning of sedition is to put gold under the pressure of fire to purify and separate the purity from the impurity, so any kind of pressure and intensity like a test, affliction, and difficulty is sedition. sedition in this verse means a calamity and a test that is all-encompassing and will affect two groups of believers and non-believers in the society. Emphasizing the silence and passive role of the believers in dealing with the problems and oppressions that exist in the society, this verse warns them against the sedition that will befall them. The way out of this sedition is to promote virtue and prevent vice, which is a sign of the sensitivity of the people of the Islamic society to preserve the divine limits. The last part of the verse emphasizes the severe punishment of God and creates the necessary motivation in the audience to play an active role in society in order to stay away from sedition.
