Studying the Ibn Taymiyyah view on cursing the companions of the Holy prophet (PBH)
According to Holy Quran and Shia and Sunni Hadith sources, the holy Prophet has a special status and therefore any insult to him is denounced. Some Muslim scholars have considered cursing on the companions of the Holy prophet as blasphemy. Ibn Taymiyyah as a famous Hanbali scholar, who has a great influence in Salafi thought, provided a special division on this issue, believing that some kinds of cursing companions will lead to blasphemy. In this research, in an analytical- descriptive method, his claims are studied and several problems are posed for this theory. The result is that his claims are not compatible with the narrations and the conducts of the Holy prophet and his companions. At the end, we can say that cursing, especially cursing the companions of the Holy prophet is condemned in all Islamic denominations, but this does not mean that we must accuse Muslims of heresy and consider them outside the realm of religion.
