The effectiveness of cognitive therapy based on mindfulness in managing and reducing the severity and psychological symptoms caused by tinnitus in soldiers suffering from it.
The present study seeks to determine the effectiveness of cognitive therapy based on mindfulness on reducing the psychological symptoms of tinnitus in military personnel suffering from this disorder.Research
The study was semi-experimental with a pre-test-post-test research design with a control group and a follow-up phase. The sample of the intervention study was 19 people from the ear, nose and throat department of the army family hospital, Payor employees and students with tinnitus disorder of Imam Ali University (AS). Tinnitus Disability Questionnaire and Tinnitus Acceptance Questionnaire were used to collect data related to psychological symptoms caused by tinnitus.
. The results of the research showed that there is a significant difference between the mean scores of tinnitus disability and the acceptance rate of tinnitus disorder in the pre-test, post-test and follow-up stages (P<0.05).
The findings showed that mindfulness skills training is effective in reducing the symptoms of tinnitus in soldiers with this disorder by increasing emotion regulation capabilities and increasing habituation to tinnitus.
