Survey of the effect of storytelling method on reading literacy development At girl students of five grade
This research, aimed to assess the impact of storytelling effect in improving reading skill of girl students of five grade of elementary school in zone 9 of Tehran. In the research, story is an independent variable and reading skill improvement is dependent variable. Two junior schools were selected from all male junior schools of zone 9 of Tehran as simple random samples. Four classes including three classes of one school as test group and one class of other school as reference group were selected by simple random sampling method. Hypotheses of the research are as follow: 1.Storytelling has positive effect on reading skills improvement of girl students of five grade of elementary school. 2. Storytelling performance more effective than the other methods in improving reading skills of girl students of five grade of elementary school. 3. The impact of storytelling with educational, historical and fictional issues differ in improving reading skills of girl students of five grade of elementary school. In this research, a pre-exam was performed for test and reference groups. After storytelling for reference group during one month, a final exam was performed for both groups. After analyzing the results, all of the above hypotheses were accepted.
