The Role of Sociological Factors Effective in Domestic Violence Against Women Referring to Social Emergency Center
Domestic violence against women is one of the common violence in society and family. Therefore, the present studying the role of sociological factors effective in domestic violence against women referring to social emergency center.
The method of the present study was a descriptive survey. The research population consisted of all married women aged 24 to 64 who referred to the social emergency center of the city in 2021, of which 390 people were selected as a sample based on Cochran's statistical formula by cluster sampling. The data collection tool was a researcher-made questionnaire, whose content validity and reliability were confirmed by Cronbach's alpha method. SPSS version 22 software and Pearson correlation test were used for data analysis.
The results showed a positive and significant relationship between all variables of the research, i.e. acceptance of violence, patriarchal family environment, involvement of parents and others, non-acceptance of gender roles, unequal power relations in the family environment, lack of attention to emotional needs and desires, economic base and Social status of parents, having less assets, experience of abuse in childhood, women's age, education and husband's addiction were associated with experience of domestic violence against women (05/>P). Finally, the designed model was able to explain the phenomenon of domestic violence against women by 0.57%.
According to the findings of this research on the impact of individual, social and economic resources in creating the context of domestic violence against women, it is necessary to plan for the empowerment of women affected by domestic violence.
