In recent years, the interdisciplinary approach in order to solve complex and multidimensional problems in different sciences, education and politics has been noticed. The connection and correlation between the subject of study of a discipline with the subjects of other disciplines and the surrounding world can provide a new perspective and a new approach to solving problems. In fact, interdisciplinarity has the claim of comprehensiveness and solving problems that different scientific branches are not able to solve alone. The current research was conducted with the aim of identifying the effective components on interdisciplinary development, using the data theory of the foundation.
Methods and Materials:
The study was presented qualitatively and analyzes and the final model in the form of Grounded theory. Research data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 20 faculty members of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, who had expertise and experience in the field of interdisciplinary research, with a purposeful sampling method and with software Maxqda software was analyzed.
The results obtained from the analysis of the research interviews led to the identification of 11 main categories (interdisciplinary interaction, comprehensive view, incentives, culture and education, structural factors, infrastructural factors, Isolation, unfamiliarity, individualism, selfishness and weak teamwork). All-round view as the central phenomenon, interdisciplinary interaction as the result, culture building and education of structural factors and infrastructures as causal conditions, individual factors (individualism, utilitarianism and weakness of teamwork) as intervention conditions. Therefore, incentives, isolation and unfamiliarity were identified as background factors.
The results of the present research led to the extraction of solutions for the development of interdisciplinary research. These solutions include comprehensive awareness of interdisciplinary research, establishing more communication between universities, development in education and training of efficient human resources, increasing research credits in interdisciplinary fields, drafting regulations. support and encouragement, creating spaces to facilitate the interactions of experts in different fields, holding interdisciplinary conferences and meetings with the aim of familiarizing different fields of science with each other, creating research centers and cores with the aim of facilitating and introducing research topics in interdisciplinary areas, training efficient researcher human resources, and also adopting an interdisciplinary approach through interdisciplinary centers that provide opportunities for development in the field of interdisciplinary research.
