Measuring the Sustainability of Urban Neighborhoods with Emphasis on Ecological FootprintCase study: Babolsar city

With the emergence of environmental crises in cities, which was caused by the rapid growth of urbanization and the lack of proper planning and planning, the ecological sustainability of urban neighborhoods declined. For this reason, in recent decades, several theories have been presented in this regard, among the most prominent of which we can mention the ecological footprint.

The purpose of the current research is to measure the sustainability of the neighborhoods of Babolsar city in terms of ecological footprint indicators and it is trying to measure the sustainability of the 22 neighborhoods of Babolsar city according to the 6 indicators of housing, energy, water, Determine non-food consumer goods, waste and transportation based on ecological footprint.

The research method is descriptive-analytical. For this purpose, Shanol's entropy model has been used for weighting indicators and VIKOR's multi-indicator decision-making model (VIKOR) has been used to analyze and stratify the studied localities according to ecological footprint indicators.

The research findings show that 81.8% of the studied localities are unstable and 18.2% are stable in terms of ecological footprint.

The final assessment indicates that changes in lifestyle and consumption patterns are the most important measures to increase sustainability in target areas.
