investigating the factors affecting violence against women (the case study: women of Bandar Abbas city)
Violence against women is considered as one of the social problems and has many physical, psychological and social consequences that can endanger the health of women, family and society. Therefore, violence is a reality that exists in all societies and is influenced by various factors. so, the current research was conducted with the aim of investigating the factors affecting violence against women.
The statistical population of the research is the abused women referring to the Welfare Counseling Center, Dispute Resolution Councils, Police Stations and Justice of Bandar Abbas city, and 258 people were selected as a statistical sample using targeted and available sampling method. A questionnaire designed by the researcher was used to collect data. The reliability of the questionnaire was obtained using Cronbach's alpha. The results showed that Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the Patriarchal attitude spectrum 0/878, observation of violence in the paternal family 0/859, spouse's mental stimulation 0/860 and violence spectrum was 0/960. T-tests, analysis of variance and multivariate regression were used to check the research hypotheses.
The results obtained from the research showed that there is a significant relationship between violence against women and women's and men's education, women's and men's jobs, spouse's addiction, spouse's mental stimulation, spouse selection method, experience of violence in childhood, observation of violence in the paternal family and Patriarchal attitude. In the step-by-step regression analysis, after entering all the variables, finally, two variables of observing violence in the paternal family and spouse's mental stimulation were entered into the regression equation, and according to the coefficient of determination (R2), these variables explained 48.3% of changes in the dependent variable.
Considering that the observation of violence in the paternal family had the greatest impact on violence against women, Therefore, the atmosphere in the family and how the parents treat each other has an impact on the children's behavior in the future. So, there should be fundamental changes in the cultural-social structure of the family in order to reduce discrimination and then violence against women.
