The Effect of Home-Based Cardiac Rehabilitation Program on Psychological, Social and Physical Indicators of Patients with Coronary Heart Disease: an Integrated Review
Among cardiovascular diseases, coronary artery diseases are responsible for half of all deaths. The control of this disease includes pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions. The aim of the current study is to investigate the effectiveness of the home-based rehabilitation program on the physical, psychological, and social indicators of patients with coronary heart disease in recent years.
The present review was conducted according to the method of Whitehorse and Knafl (2005). This review consists of 5 steps. These steps include identifying the problem, reviewing the literature, evaluating the data, analyzing the studies included in the study, and presenting the results of the data In the current study, PubMed, Cochrane Library, and Science Direct, as comprehensive and extensive databases that provide access to the full text of most articles, were searched with the keywords Coronary heart disease -Home-based cardiac rehabilitation. In terms of time, a limit was considered from 2012 to 2022.
The search result in the first stage included 105 articles. After reviewing the titles and abstracts of the articles, a large number of articles were excluded due to irrelevant or duplicated databases. Finally, 9 articles were included in the study. Finally, the findings of the article are classified according to three physical, psychological, and social indicators.
The results of this study show that the home-based cardiac rehabilitation program is effective on the psychological, social and physical indicators of patients with coronary artery disease.
