The Role of Child Bearing and Rearing in Increasing the Quality of Life Based on Verses and Traditions

The great religion of Islam pays special attention to child bearing and rearing and holds that children increase the quality of life in this world and in the hereafter. This is while the colonial culture of the West prescribes the policy of “better life with fewer children” for Islamic societies. Using the descriptive-analytical method and collecting library data, the present research has tried to encourage parents to have and rear children and experience a better life by examining the role of children in increasing the quality of life. The results of the present research showed that having and raising children leads to the improvement of the quality of material and spiritual life and the increase of the authority of the family and society. Righteous children not only help and facilitate problem solving in life, but also raise family’s spirits and bring honor and happiness because of their purity and good behavior. The reward of raising good children is an important spiritual capital in the hereafter and ongoing charity for parents. Due to having their own share of sustenance, children expand the sustenance of the family and society and transmit the lifegiving monotheistic culture from one generation to the next.
