Swearing to someone other that God
Wahhabism considers swearing by something other than the name of God to be a form of polytheism. They say: Swearing by other than God is a kind of small shirk. In this essay, we intend to present the Wahhabi point of view to the Holy Quran and the tradition of the Holy Prophet (PBH). We found that this Wahhabi ideology and labelling Muslims as pagans is against the Holy Quran, the narrations of the Holy prophet, and the consensus of Islamic jurists. Muslims throughout history has classified the issue of oath under the jurisprudential issues and not as a theological issue. But Wahhabism has put this issue under the theological issues. They maintain that if someone swear to other than God, he or she has committed a minor Shirk. The Wahhabi aim is to label their Muslim opponents as Mushrik and pagan. Islamic scholars consider the Wahhabi approach to be against the Holy Quran and the tradition of the Holy prophet and criticize it.
