Investigating the Role of Mass Media on Police Social Capital

The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between the amount of mass media use and police social capital using survey method with a sample size of 382 residents with the age of more than 20 years in Bojnourd in 1394. Findings show that there is a direct and significant relationship between the degree of use of mass media and dimensions of social capital viz. degree of trust, awareness, and public participation (r= 0/633). Therefore, this is to conclude that the mass media through broadcasting the different programs on police successes could be able to play a key role in developing the police social capital. Hence, in order to develop the cognition and public awareness regarding police important roles in the society we should take serious steps.
