Sociological Analysis of Risky Driving Behavior among Youth

The goal of this study is sociological analysis of risky driving behavior among youth. The documentary and library method is used to conduct this research. Therefore, through using essays and books about risky driving, we did a sociological analyze on risky driving behavior. The theories were used as the theoretical framework in this research is the Bourdieu’s lifestyle theory and Durkheim’s anomie theory. The results of this study showed that when anomie occurs in the society, people behave against the law of that society based on Durkheim’s anomie theory. And based on Bourdieu’s lifestyle theory, the people’s type of lifestyle affects on how people behave illegally and drive risky. Among the social factors that affect risky driving behavior these are more important than others; social anomie, lack of social control, probability of punishment, age and gender. Also male and female behave differently when it comes to risky driving.
