Investigating the challenges of professional contracts in sports by looking at the laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran
Professional contracts in sports are among service contracts. Based on these contracts, a professional commits to professional obligations for a specific club within the framework of the contractual conditions. Since these contracts are directly related to the economic system, they are very important, so that many important challenges in this regard have been legally protected. One of the most important challenges related to professional contracts in the field of sports is the lack of legal eligibility of some athletes to enter into contracts, because these people, due to their young age, although they are professionals in a certain activity, but in terms of age, eligibility is required. do not have to conclude a contract. The second challenge of professional contracts in sports can be considered as "non-competition clause" which is included in some contracts with professional persons and according to which the athlete cannot work for competing teams for a certain period of time and this lack The activity includes the period after the end of the contract. In this article, professional contracts in sports have been explained and also some legal challenges in this regard have been evaluated and analyzed.
