The effectiveness of the proposed framework that includes cooperative learning strategies, the information gap, and the preference pyramid in developing reading comprehension skills

Abstract:
Reading comprehension skill is one of the most important skills in the field of reading, which directly affects the learning of all language arts, according to what many researchers in the field of language education have said. The contemplator of the current reality in Iranian schools will find that teachers neglect to teach and teach this skill according to systematic scientific foundations since the skill of comprehension plays a crucial role in university entrance exams for Arabic subjects; It is necessary to adopt modern methods and strategies that positively affect the emotional and cognitive levels of learners, develop their performance and develop their competence in the course; Out of this necessity, this study aims to assess the knowledge of the effectiveness of the proposed framework represented in cooperative learning strategies, the information gap, and preference pyramid in developing reading comprehension skills among female Arabic language learners in the city of Saadat Shahr. The research followed the quasi-experimental approach. The study sample was limited to 40 female students in Al-Zahraa School, who were randomly divided into the experimental and control groups. The results of the study showed that there were statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) in favor of the experimental group in the post-measurement of the skills of literal comprehension, deductive understanding, critical understanding, and creative understanding, which indicates the effectiveness of the employed strategies and their remarkable positive impact on the development of reading comprehension skills in the study sample.
