The Study of a Total Productive Integrated Approach Based on Reliability in Maintenance Systems

While the integration of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) is clearly a major issue in maintenance management. Unfortunately, limited attention has been paid to it in the literature. It lacks a structured approach to operational equipment. Therefore, this research uses the complementary nature of the two strategies to provide an integrated operational approach to increase equipment availability with the aim of designing and improving maintenance plans for a public system. It also includes specific operational worksheets, ranging from autonomous maintenance tasks to maintainability improvement measures and employee’s education and training. This research is a mixed method of questionnaire and library and document analysis type. In order to analyze the findings, classification, reasoning and logical inference have been done. literature review and development of the proposed model proved that RCM if developed within the TPM framework improves better results, because it focuses on preventive maintenance. Also, both approaches with the same goals increase the quality, reliability, availability and performance of equipment by eliminating waste. This research gives companies the opportunity to reap the benefits of an operational framework that effectively integrates long-term maintenance methods, helping technicians and operators during their daily operations.
