Comparison of delivery satisfaction based on the type of delivery performed in Fatemieh Hospital in Hamadan

Women's satisfaction with the experiences and process of childbirth is a decisive factor in the mental health of the family and society, and also affects their fertility intentions, so that many women with bitter memories of a previous birth do not want to have children again. Accordingly, the purpose of this study was to compare the satisfaction of delivery based on the type of delivery performed in Fatemieh Hospital in Hamadan.

This case-control study was performed on 242 pregnant women referred to Fatemieh Educational and Medical Center in Hamadan. Sampling was performed by available sampling among individuals who met the inclusion criteria. Written informed consent was obtained from these individuals. Data collection tools were demographic characteristics questionnaire and McKay delivery satisfaction questionnaire which was completed from 2 hours after delivery until the mother was discharged from the hospital. Study data were collected according to the objectives of the study and analyzed using SPSS23 statistical software and the significance level was considered 0.05

The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of most demographic variables. .There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of comparing the satisfaction of women with childbirth

This study shows that there is no statistically significant difference in terms of women's satisfaction with childbirth between the two methods of delivery with spinal analgesia and routine delivery without analgesia.
