Empowering Muslim women's management by looking at Islamic principles

Abstract:
In order to empower Muslim women in management and leadership positions, this article proposes a cultural model that addresses the goals of quality education sustainability, gender equality, economic growth and reducing inequalities, as well as national and cultural differences compared to western women's empowerment models. The approach to modeling begins with two documented sources for women's empowerment: first, the Qur'an and the Sunnah, which recognize women's empowerment, and second, historical records, especially in the early Islamic period, which are emphasized to some extent. This hermeneutic identifies four approaches that can be used in building a comprehensive model of Muslim women's empowerment: Bourdieu's theory of social, cultural and intellectual capital, as well as the theory of multiple modernities that recognizes social diversity. . reasons for cultural security to preserve cultures; and post-colonial critiques that argue for diversity through decolonization. The main focus of this article is that sustainability goals cannot be achieved without a suitable model with the value, cultural and social context in which women study and work. In the end, a multi-dimensional and multi-level model is proposed that can be used as a guide for empowering Muslim women in managerial and leadership positions. The design of the model is based to some extent on the psycho-social cultural model of Cote and Levin, which defines the multiple levels and dimensions of identity, role and structure of the social institution.
