Imam Ali (ع), a Democratic Approach to the Governmet and its Origin
This article discusses the theoretical and practical foundations of religious democracy as an achievement of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has introduced some new terminology and concepts in the political discourse of Iran in recent years. To this end, some necessary measures taken to actualize religious democracy like the role afforded to people in the election of their rulers following the model of Imam Ali (ع) as the embodiment of the Holy Quran and the Prophet's Tradition, are being considered. This would clarify the differences between religious and liberalistic democracy.
