The Spread of industrial civilization had various positive and negative concequences for humantiy. Among its negative consequences one can cite the growing intervention of man kind in nature and the subsequent environmental changes that have been brought about. Such transformations in the natural environment led to serious doubts and concerns about the conduct of humanity in modern civilization and sent shock waves into modern man's pereceptions of his future life word.The growth of various environmental movements and ecological thought can be attributed to this new realization. The green movement and ecologism now present themselves ad the main discourses in this field and attempt to reevaluate the inter relation ships between man and nature after two centuries of industrial growth.
