A Comparative Study of Mental Health Situation of High School Students in Zahedan - Iran.

Abstract:
The present survey under taken with following objectives. 1. To determine mental health situation of high school students.2. To compare the situation among students with different types of gender, schools and courses.Descriptive survey method of research was employed to determine mental health situation of students. The sample of the study consisted of 615 high school students who were selected by stratified - random sampling. The tool employed to collect the relevant data was SCL. 90- R questionnaire. To analyze the collected data inferential statistic method of Chi- square, t and F test were used. The results revealed that %23.1 of students on physical complaint, %18.2 on obsession, %35.1 on inter personal sensitivity, %47.5 on depression, %17.7 on anxiety, %27 on aggression, %31.1 on phobia, %31.2 on paranoia and %34.3 on psychosis have signs of disorder. The result also revealed that disorder on above said factors are more serious among girl students, public school students and students of humanity courses as compare to that of boys, private school and students of other courses.
