Hemodynamic responses to laryngoscopy and intubation: propofol versus thiopental sodium

The induction of anesthesia, laryngoscopy and endotracheal intubation can be associated with hemodynamic responses such as tachycardia, bradycardia, hypertension, hypotension and so forth. Changes in arterial pressure (>25%) can be associated with cardiovascular complications and impairment of cerebral perfusion.
