The relationship between self - management skills and employees innovation in the Kerman Province organization

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between self-management skills and innovative behaviors in organizations from managers of employees point of view and this research is experimental.The participants in this study, were employees and their managers that working in six companies in Kerman province. Data were collected through survey administrated to the employees and their managers. A total of 175 matched questionnaires were returned.The results indicate that the three dimensional scale of self-management skills is positively associated with both self and managers rating of innovative behaviors, the findings also show that income and job tenure are related to innovative behaviors.This research suggests ways for organization to enhance their innovativeness through employees who possess high self-management skills and receive appropriate extrinsic rewards for their management skills and innovative behaviors.
