Abstract:
Background
In laparoscopic surgery CO2 is insufflated into the abdomen and may cause referred pain. So the aim of this study is to determine acetazolamide effect on postoperative pain after laparoscopic surgery. Materials And Methods
in a double blinded clinical trial, 60 patients who were going under laparoscopic surgery were divided into two groups. Before surgery 250 mg acetazolamide was administered to group A and placebo was administered to group B. Data was analyzed using SPSS. Results
In both groups, 7 nephrectomy, 10 varicosel, 6 orchiopexy and 7 pieloplasty had been done. Incisional pain scores was not statistically different between two groups (P>0.05). But the referred pain was lower after acetazolamide administration than after placebo. (P<0.05) Conclusion
