Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Mental Health of the Behbahan Islamic Azad University Counseling girl Students
Abstract:
The main concern of the present study was to probe the relationship between emotional intelligence and Mental health of the of the Behbahan Islamic Azad University (BIAU) counseling girl students. The research design was correlation and the population being all the counseling girl students of BIAU in 1387-1388. To conduct this study, 120 counseling girl students of BIAU comprised of different branches were randomly selscted. The statistical procedures conducted in this study were mainly based on Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (EIQ), General health Questionnaire (GHQ). Once the results were obtained based on descriptive and inferential statistics, they were analysed using pearson`s correlation coefficient, Multivariated Regression Analysis. The results, in general, supported the idea that there is a clear link and meaningful relationship between emotional intelligence and counseling girl students mental health (P<0.0001). The data obtained in stage regression analysis also showed that the factor mental health were explicated by all sub factor emotional intelligence, excepted Self-motivation and Self awareness.
