Functional Requirements for Authority Data (FRAD): Authoritie's conceptual entity-relationship model in Bibliographic Records

Functional Requirements for Authority Data (FRAD) is a conceptual entity-relationship model created by IFLA to link user needs and library authority data. This model is a part of IFLA FRBR. FRAD add special entities and attributes about authority control to FRBR and complete it. Conceptual framework and forecasting of it remind 4 main aims. These 4 aims cover librarian's or users demands. These aims are: Find, Identify, Contextualize and Justify. The main goal is to prepare an analytical framework for surveying Functional Requirements for Authority Records and the international sharing of authority data. In this research, FRAD model has been introduced and its applications and functions in LIS have been surveyed. Also, the essential of using this model in information storage and retrieval for increasing functionality of information systems have been analyzed.
