Analytical Study of the Relationship between the Information Content Changes of Financial Statements with Stock Price Changes in Companies Listed on Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE)

Abstract:
This research attempts to predict stock price through the content of financial statements. In other words, this research tries to study how the financial statements content affect on stock price in companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. The main hypothesis, which is divided into 8 subsidiary hypotheses, investigates the relationship between changes of financial statements items and stock price changes. Time scope of this research is from fiscal year 1383 to fiscal year 1387 and statistical community includes companies listed on the Tehran Exchange Stock. The research data were mainly gathered from the financial statements of sample companies. In order to test hypotheses and statistical analysis, regression analysis, T-statistic, F-statistic, and SPSS software was used. Finally, the main hypothesis was confirmed. It means the financial statements as a part of financial information, along with other variables and factors, enables to predict stock price in Tehran Stock Exchange.
