Comparing the indicators of entrepreneurship among high school graduates in Garmsar County for the academic year 2007-8

The present research was conducted for the purpose of comparing the indexes of entrepreneurship among high school graduates in Garmsar County for the academic year 2007-8. Statistical population for the study, therefore, included a total number of 1033 senior students studying in three types of public schools, namely regular schools, technical schools and vocational schools. The sample population by use of random sampling and based on Morgan Table, were counted 493. To collect data required for the study, a questionnaire was designed by use of definitions presented in the works of McClelland (1963) and Brokhouse (1980), basically measuring some indicators as tendency towards independence, creativity, risk taking, inner control, work team, and vision. Validity of the questionnaire was checked by experts in the field and reliability for all indexes showed a rate of over 84% through test of Alpha. By use of one way variance analysis, the data analyzed showed that for the entrepreneurship competencies there were meaningful differences among the three groups in the study with a degree of p=0.01. Students in technical education, however, showed to have a higher degree of tendency toward entrepreneurship.
