The relationship between emotional intelligence and Job satisfaction among the staff of Semnan public organizations

Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and Job satisfaction among Semnan Public organizations staff. A number of 204 staff was selected using cluster sampling. For data collection, Shiberiyashring’s Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire and Specter’s Job Satisfaction Questionnaire were administered. The hypotheses were tested using Pearson correlation coefficient. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between emotional intelligence and Job satisfaction. The findings of regression analysis showed that %22 of Job satisfaction was expressed by emotional intelligence. Further analysis showed that emotional intelligence component of self-control, motivation and social skills forecasted the Job satisfaction changes. There was significant relationship between emotional intelligence and components of self-control, self-motivation, social skills and Job satisfaction.
