Management of Defense Knowledge

The trends are indicating that “production based” societies and organizations are newly substituted by “knowledge based” societies and organizations. The main concern for them is generating and securing strategic knowledge which can distinct them from their competing societies and organizations. In this context, management of defense knowledge, as a new reading of property management, is of special significance. Therefore, the article attempts to show the necessity of considering knowledge management in the armed forces by exploring defense knowledge and so management of defense knowledge and Inukshuk, a new model for knowledge management. Finally, developing of the strategy for management of defense knowledge and planning for and founding of the relevant responsible institution are mentioned as the two major steps towards management of defense knowledge within the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
