The Reasons for Stagnation of Calf Breeding Cooperatives in Kermanshah City (A Case Study of Cooperative No. 348)

The purpose of this qualitative research was to determine the reasons of stagnation in calf breeding farm cooperatives in Kermanshah City in 2010 by utilizing Grounded Theory. To this end, the stagnated calf breeding cooperative no. 348 was studied as the statisticalpopulation. Research data were collected by in depth interviews, group discussion, studying library and internet documents & sources and by observation. Data were then analyzed by opening, axial and selective coding. Based on findings, the most important reasons for stagnation of the cooperative were respectively structural & infrastructural, financial and legal, government policies, inefficient management and deficiency ofscientific and technical knowledge. Validity of findings was confirmed by the experts of Kermanshah Province Cooperation Administration & Animal Husbandry Union. In the end suggestions were proposed to solve some of the aforesaid problems.
