Human rights in Nahj al-Balagha

Message:
Abstract:
Imam Ali (a) about fourteen centuries ago, during his short government has paid considerable attention to the principles of human rights and all related aspects. This paper has intended to study human rights in Nahj al-Balagha analytico-descriptively. The study has shown that in spite of their attention to the expression human rights and trying to make it current, Western schools of thought cannot be considered the first in putting the subject forward. One, therefore, can find the foundations of the subject matter in revealed religions, more specially in Islam. Islamic main sources have brought different fields of human rights into consideration. Furthermore, Islamic teachings have been clearly stood against the articles of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It is the fact that one can easily perceive from Islamic teachings of jurisprudence and law.
