This study aimed to develop a competency model for Islamic Azad Universities branches presidents.
Study methodology was survey performed in qualitative and quantitative parts. Study population in the qualitative part was including the present and past presidents of Guilan Islamic Azad university branches with more than 20 years record of service in presidency and in the quantitative part, it was consisted of all the presidents, vicepresidents and deans of branches of Guilan Islamic Azad University. In the qualitative part, systematic, non-random technique of theoretical saturation was performed and in the quantitative part, total counting was used. Study tool was including the interview and two open ended and close ended questionnaires. Data analysis was performed by fuzzy technique.
In this study, 51 competencies were recognized, categorizing in 6 dimensions including strategic, resource management, advocacy, communication, cooperation and professional.
According Rank merits obtained and the proposed model, offered suggestions for improvement.
