    This study was conducted to determine the hematological and serum biochemical parameters of growing rabbits fed diet supplemented with Indigofera zollingeriana leaf meal (IZM). A total number of Fifty (50) growing rabbits of between seven and eight weeks of age were randomly assigned to five treatment groups in a completely randomized design. Each group was replicated five times with two rabbits per replicate. Five experimental diets were formulated such that T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5 was supplemented with IZM at 0g, 2.5g, 5.0g, 7.5g and 10g respectively. Feed and water were provided ad libitum and the experiment lasted for 8 weeks. The hematological parameters determined included pack cell volume (PCV), hemoglobin (Hb), red blood cells (RBC), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC), white blood cell (WBC) and its differentials while those of serum biochemical indices are: total protein, globulin, albumin, cholesterol, serum glutamic pyruvate transaminase (SGPT), serum glutamic oxaloacetate transaminase (SGOT). Results on hematology revealed that there were no significant differences (P>0.05) in the values of PCV, RBC, MCV, WBC and its differentials. Hb, MCH and MCHC values were significantly (p <0.05) influenced by the dietary supplementation of IZM. All results on the serum biochemical parameters showed that there was no significant (P>0.05) differences among the treatments. It was concluded that dietary supplementation of IZM up to 10g/kg had no deleterious effect on the hematology and serum biochemical parameters of rabbits.

    This experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of feeding different levels of luffa aegyptiaca extracts (LAP) on the growth performance of broiler chicken fed corn-soya meal diet. The study was carried out between January to March, 2019. A total of two hundred day old broiler chicks of mixed sex (Ross 308) were allocated into four treatment groups, each group was further divided into five replicates each of ten (10) birds. The growth performance parameters measured are: initial body weight, final body weight, average weight gain, average feed intake, average water intake and mortality. Clean feed and water were provided ad libitum and the experiment lasted for 42 days. Treatment 1 contained 1.25 g/ litre of Oxyteracycline, treatment 2, 3 and 4 contained LAP at 10, 20 and 30ml/litre. There was a significant (p0.05) influenced by LAP and OXY. It was concluded that LAP could be orally administered up to 30 ml/litre to broiler chickens without any negative effect on the growth and health performance of the animal.

    The objective of this study was to evaluate the heamato-biochemical, relative organ weight and bacteria count of broiler chicken given different levels of Luffa aegyptiaca leaf extract (LUF). A total of 250 day old Ross 308 broiler chicks of mixed sex were divided into five treatments, each group was further divided into five replicates each of ten (10) birds in a completely randomized design. Birds in treatment A were given 1.20g/litre of Neomycin in water, treatment B, C, D and E were given 5, 10, 15 and 20 ml/litre of LUF. Clean feed and water was given ad libitum and the experiment lasted for 3 weeks. The data obtained was used to evaluate the haematological parameters (PCV, RBC, Hb, WBC, MCV, MCH and MCHC), serum biochemical indices (Albumin, globulin, calcium, phosphorus, SGPT and SGOT), organ weight (liver, kidney, spleen, heart, lungs, pancreas and small intestine) and bacteria count (E.coli and Lactobacillus). Result obtained revealed that there was no significant differences (p>0.05) in the haematological, relative organ weight, serum biochemical parameters and E.coli count obtained.     Moringa oleifera commonly referred to as the drumstick tree is a plant from the Moringaceae family. It is a medicinal plant that was found to be loaded with different bioactive chemicals or secondary metabolites such as vitamins, minerals, saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids, carotenoids etc. which are involved in enhancing a long term health benefits. M. olifera is among the most promising species based on their high antioxidant activity, high contents of micro-nutrients, processing properties, ease of growing, and also on palatability, stability and shelf life of animal products. It has a relatively high protein content which varies from 24% - 32%, the leaves are used as a food source for humans and a dry season feed for animals because of the nutrient contents it contains. It has been traditionally used in the treatment of many ailments throughout the world and has been scientifically proven to act as anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, antiulcer, analgesics, antiepileptic. With the increasing popularity on the usage of Moringa olifera in the diets of animals and the positive impact recorded, this review is a collection of different work by authors on using of Moringa olifera in poultry and African catfish (Clarias gariepinus).

    A 42 days experiment was carried out to evaluate the effects of dried Centella asiatica leaf meal (CSP) as an herbal feed additive on the growth performance, haematology and serum biochemistry of broiler chicken. A total of 200 Ross 308 day old broiler chicks of mixed sex was divided into four (4) treatment groups of fifty (50) birds, each group was further divided into five replicates each of ten (10) birds. Group A was fed basal diet + 0% CPS (control), group B,C and D were fed basal diet + 2%, 4% and 6% CPS respectively. The basal diet was formulated to meet the nutritional requirements of birds according to NRC (1994). Feed and water was provided unrestricted and a completely randomized design and birds were vaccinated according to the prevailing disease in the environment. The results obtained showed that there were significant (p0.05) the daily feed intake and mortality rate. All the hematological and serum biochemical parameters were not significantly (p>0.05) different among the treatments.It can be concluded that the inclusion of CPS at 6% enhanced the overall performance of the birds without causing any deleterious effect on the health of the animals.

    This experiment was carried to determine the growth performance of weaner rabbits fed Morinda citrifolia (Noni) and Moringa olifera leaf meal mixture (MCML) as partial replacement of Soybean meal (SBM). Fifty (50), 7-8 weeks bucks cross breed rabbits (Chinchilla × New Zealand White) with an average weight of 620g and 625g were allotted into five (5) dietary treatments of ten (10) rabbits per group and were individually caged in an all –wired metabolic cages. SBM was replaced by MCML at levels of 0%, 3%, 6%, 9% and 12% respectively and the experiment lasted for 98 days. Clean feed and water were provided ad libitum, experimental parameters covered feed intake, feed conversion ratio, daily water intake and mortality. The results of this experiment showed that there were no significant differences (p>0.05) in the final weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio and daily water intake across the treatment, diet containing 3% MCML had the highest weight gain of 1157.0g, while rabbits fed 0% MCML had the lowest weight gain of 1084.0g.
