    Water safety plan (WSP) is a new way to ensure the safety of drinking water by risk assessment and systematic prevention approach. The purpose of this study was to assess the risk and identify hazards from the production source to the point of use and plan to reduce or eliminate these hazards to provide safe drinking water. This study was conducted on the water supply system of Talesh city in 2021. The WSP has 12 stages and the third stage is risk assessment and hazard identification. This stage scored 69 points out of a total of 100 raw points, which indicates 69% coordination with the WSP. Based on the analysis, 47 hazards were identified in production sources, transmission lines, distribution network, and point of use. The presence of domestic sewage wells near the source of supply, undesirable chlorine concentration, and old pipes in the distribution network, as well as the failure of the check valve at the point of consumption are the most important risks. With the implementation of different phases of WSP, especially the stage of identification and assessment of microbial contamination risk in the distribution network, has been decreased to 0% and the desired residual chlorine concentration has been increased to 100%. Currently, water supply system of Talesh has a moderate level of safety.

    Background

    Water safety plan is a systematic approach to ensure the quality of water delivered to consumers from catchment to consumption.

    Methods

    This study was conducted on the groundwater system of Talesh, Gilan, in 2020-2021. A Water Safety Plan (WSP) consists of 5 phases and 12 steps. In the implementation of this plan, all modules were reviewed. Software checklists were prepared and based on the background information in Talesh Water and Wastewater Company, interviews with experts and field visits were performed, and then, entered into WSP QA TOOL software.

    Results

    Out of 440 raw scores, 222 points were obtained, indicating 50.45% compliance with WSP. The description system with the highest score (100%) and the management procedures with the lowest score (50%) were in line with this plan. The stages of development and supporting program and review of WSP cannot be evaluated due to the incomplete implementation of water safety plan in Talesh. Between different parts of the water supply system, more attention has been paid to production sources and points of use.

    Conclusion

    This study identifies the inefficiency in dependence on the final tests and the necessary items in updating the supply system of Talesh. According to the study of the different stages of WSP, the system has a moderate level of safety.

    Introduction

    The water safety plan is a systematic approach that aims to ensure the quality of water distributed to consumers. In 2004, the World Health Organization issued a statement implementing the water safety plan. The plan is underway in Iran. The purpose of this study is to review the studies conducted from 2004 to 2020.

    Materials and Methods

    Present article is a systematic review study to search for keywords in a combination of "water safety plan" (WSP), "Iran", "Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points", (HACCP) and "water" in international databases including: PubMed, Science Direct, Google Scholar, as well as national databases include: Magiran and SID.

    Results

    In the initial search, 671 articles were found that after screening based on the Prisma checklist, 15 articles were included in the study for further review. The results showed that in the implementation of WSP, the highest score is related to Qom city with 68.64% and the lowest value is related to Khoy city with 17.5%. Improvement and upgrade program, support program development, and review of WSP courses have received less attention. Low staff familiarity with WSP, insufficient team composition and lack of coordination between them in holding regular meetings can be the reason for poor implementation of WSP in Iran.

    Conclusion

    The full implementation of the water safety plan controls the risks in the water supply system and reduces costs, as well as improves and increases the quality of water distributed to consumers.

    زمینه و هدف

    امروزه تولید مواد پلاستیکی با رشد جمعیت و توسعه صنعت در جهان چندین برابر شده است. میکروپلاستیک ها بر اثر تجزیه مواد پلاستیکی در محیط رها می شوند. سازمان بهداشت جهانی بدلیل ماندگاری زیاد و خاصیت تجمعی زیستی این ذرات، آنها را آلاینده نوظهور نامیده است.مطالعه حاضر به مرور مطالعات انجام شده در مورد ویژگی ها، مخاطرات بهداشتی، مقادیر و همچنین کارایی روش های مختلف حذف میکروپلاستیک ها در محیط های آبی پرداخته است.

    مواد و روش ها

    دراین مطالعه ی مروری، کلمات کلیدیMicro-plastic ,Pollution، Water-Drinking و Removal در مقالات سال های 2000 تا 2020 پایگاه های داده Pubmed , Google Scholar, Science Direct و Scopus جستجو شد و مورد مطالعه قرار گرفت.

    یافته ها

    مطالعات نشان می دهد این آلاینده در محیط زیست علاوه بر زنجیره غذایی، در آب های آشامیدنی بطری شده نیز وجود دارد، که می تواند سلامت انسان، محیط زیست و جانداران ساکن در محیط های آبی را تحت تاثیر قرار دهد.

    نتایج

    پیشنهاد می شود مطالعات بیشتری درباره این آلاینده در محیط های آبی بویژه در ایران انجام شود. علاوه بر آن، آگاهی دادن به مردم مبنی بر استفاده کمتر از مواد پلاستیکی در زندگی روزمره، آموزش صحیح بازیافت به آنها و کمک گرفتن از صنایع تا یک جایگزین مناسب برای پلاستیک ارایه نمایند. نوع مقاله: یک مقاله مروری می باشد.

    Background and Purpose

    Today, the production of plastic materials has multiplied with the growth of population and the development of industry in the world. Micro-plastics are released into the environment by the decomposition of plastic materials. The World Health Organization (WHO) has called these particles emerging pollutants due to their highly durable and bioaccumulative. The present study reviews the characteristics, health hazards, values, as well as the efficiency of different methods of eliminating micro-plastics in aquatic environments.

    Materials and Methods

    In this review study, the keywords Micro-plastic, Water-drinking, Pollution, and Removal were searched and studied in articles from 2000 to 2020 published by Pubmed, Google scholar, Science direct, and Scopus.

    Results

    Studies show that in addition to the food chain, this pollutant is also present in bottled drinking water, which can affect human health, the environment and living organisms in aquatic environments.

    conclusion

    It is suggested that more studies be done on this pollutant in aquatic environments, especially in Iran. In addition, educate people about less use of plastic in everyday life, teach them how to recycle properly, and get help from the industry to provide a suitable alternative to plastic.
