    Background & aim
    Cesarean section (C-section) has often been one of the most common surgical procedures for women. It can be associated with several psychological and mental factors. Recently, spirituality related to adaptation with stressful situations has also been emphasized. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between spiritual health and pain intensity following a C-section.
    Methods
    This cross-sectional study was conducted in Sayyad Shirazi Hospital, Gorgan city, Iran in 2013-2014. To this aim, 200 pregnant women, who wanted to undergo C-section were selected through convenience sampling method. The data were collected via demographic characteristics form, well-being Questionnaire at the beginning of the study, and Visual Analogue Scale at three stages of immediately, one hour, and 6-8 hours post-delivery. All the data were analyzed by statistical tests, including Pearson’s correlation and independent t-test using SPSS Version 16.
    Results
    This cross-sectional study was conducted in Sayyad Shirazi Hospital, Gorgan city, Iran in 2013-2014. To this aim, 200 pregnant women, who underwent C-section were selected through convenience sampling method. The data were collected via demographic questionnaire, Paloutzian and Ellison well-being Questionnaires (SWBQ,1982) at the beginning of the study, and Visual Analogue Scale at three stages of immediately, one hour, and 6-8 hours post-delivery. Data were analyzed by statistical tests, including Pearson’s correlation and independent t-test using SPSS Version 16.
    Conclusion
    According to the results of this study, no relationship was found between the pain intensity after C-section and spiritual health at several stages of post-delivery phase.

    Background and Aim
    One of the most important events in human life is marriage. Sexual satisfaction is one of the effective factors in a successful marriage. Accordingly, sexual health education is necessary. Sex education should be in line with the cultural, religious, and social infrastructures of the society. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of sex education with and without religious teachings on sexual performance of married women.
    Methods
    This clinical trial with a pretest-posttest design was performed in four health centers that were selected through multi-stage cluster sampling, in 2013. A total of 64 women were chosen with regard to the inclusion criteria, such as formal marriage and first marriage, age of marriage ≥ 1, married life with husband, monogamous marriage, and participating in training sessions (sexual health education and sexual health based on religious teachings) that were held for six weeks. Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) and a demographic characteristics form were used to collect the data. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, t-test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient in SPSS, version 16.
    Results
    In the intervention group, the mean score of Female Sexual Function Index was significantly different before and after the training program (P=0.03). The subgroups of sexual desire, orgasm, and sexual satisfaction in the intervention group and subgroups of arousal and sexual satisfaction in the control group were significantly different after the intervention (P

    Considering the religious culture of Iran, sex education based on religious teachings can enhance sexual performance.

    مقدمه

    سازگاری زناشویی، پایه و اساس زندگی مشترک است. دو مورد از مهمترین عوامل موثر بر آن، رضایت جنسی و اعتقادات مذهبی می باشد. دین و مذهب نیز به نقش آموزش های جنسی تاکید ورزیده است، لذا مطالعه حاضر با هدف توام ساختن آموزش های جنسی با آموزه های دینی مرتبط با آن و بررسی تاثیر آن بر سازگاری زناشویی زنان متاهل انجام شد.

    روش کار

    این مطالعه نیمه تجربی یک گروهه با پیش آزمون و پس آزمون در سال 1391 بر روی 30 زن متاهل مراجعه کننده به دو مرکز بهداشتی - درمانی شهر مشهد انجام شد. واحدهای پژوهش به مدت 6 هفته در کلاس های آموزشی شرکت کردند. ابزار گردآوری داده ها در این مطالعه شامل: فرم مشخصات فردی، پرسشنامه سازگاری زناشویی اسپانیر و مقیاس شاخص عملکرد جنسی زنان بود. تجزیه و تحلیل داده ها با استفاده از نرم افزار آماری SPSS (نسخه 5/11) و آزمون های تی زوجی و ضریب همبستگی انجام شد. میزان p کمتر از 05/0 معنی دار در نظر گرفته شد.

    یافته ها

    میانگین سن زنان 2/7±9/33 سال و میانگین مدت ازدواج آنان 8/6±1/13 سال بود. اکثر زنان خانه دار بوده و درآمد در حد کفاف داشتند. پس از آموزش،نمره کل سازگاری زناشویی از 51/19±12/94 به 5/16±61/102 ارتقاء یافت (002/0=p) و در خرده مقیاس های توافق (002/0=p) و تجلی ابراز احساسات (01/0=p) تفاوت آماری معنی داری مشاهده شد.

    نتیجه گیری

    آموزش های جنسی توام با آموزه های دینی می تواند باعث افزایش سازگاری زناشویی کلی، توافق و تجلی عواطف در زندگی زناشویی شود.

    Introduction

    Marital adjustment is basis for marital life. Two important factors affects on marital adjustment are sex satisfaction and religious beliefs. Faith and religion have also encouraged to sex education. The aim of this study was combining sex education and religious education and investigating those effects on marital adjustment in married women.

    Methods

    This single group quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test was conducted on 30 married women referred to two health centers of Mashhad، Iran in 2011. Cases took part in educational classes for 6 weeks. Data were gathered by Spanier Dyadic Adjustment Scale، characteristic demographic and Female Sexual Function Index questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS software version 11. 5 and paired t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient test. P value less than 0. 05 was considered significant.

    Results

    The mean age of women was 33. 9±7. 2 years and the mean length of marriage was 13. 1±6. 8 years. Majority of women were housekeeper and income level was sufficient. After education، the total score of marital adjustment increased from 94. 12±19. 51 to 102. 61±16. 5 (p=0. 002) and there were significant differences in consensus (p=0. 002) and affectional expression (p=0. 01) subscales.

    Conclusion

    The sex education based on religious education can increase total marital adjustment and consensus and affectional expression among couples.
