BackgroundOur aim was to determine the service quality of delivered care for people with Caesarean Section and Normal Delivery.MethodsA cross-sectional study was conducted among 200 people who had caesarean section and normal delivery in Al-Zahra Teaching Hospital in Tabriz, north western Iran. Service quality was calculated using: Service Quality = 10 – (Importance × Performance) based on importance and performance of service quality aspects from the postpartum women‟s perspective.A hierarchical regression analysis was applied in two steps using the enter method to examine the associations between demographics and SQ scores. Data were analysed using the SPSS-17 software.Results“Confidentiality”, “autonomy”, “choice of care provider” and “communication” achieved scores at the highest level of quality; and “support group”, “prompt attention”, “prevention and early detection”, “continuity of care”, “dignity”, “safety”, “accessibility and “basic amenities” got service quality score less than eight. Statistically significant relationship was found between service quality score and continuity of care (P=0.008).ConclusionA notable gap between the participants‟ expectations and what they have actually received in most aspects of provided care. So, there is an opportunityto improve the quality of delivered care.Keywords: Service quality, Patient's perspective, Caesarean section, Normal delivery

IntroductionThe major part of peoples knowledge, skills and abilities are achieved during the complex process called learning. Learning is not simply the product of mere intelligence and capabilities of individual; it also depends on other factors such as personality traits, personal interests, and t ype of duty and di fferent methods and st yles. The understanding of each individual fits with his/her learning style. The aim of this study was to determine the learning st yles of Health Care Management students inTabriz University of Medical Sciences.MethodsLearning styles of 55 Health Services Management students in Tabriz Health and Nutrition Faculty were evaluated in 2009 using a twelve-question Kolb questionnaire in a descriptive study. The data was anal yzed using SPSS. And the frequency of students learning styles was identified by their agesand averages.ResultsIn this study, 69% of the students were female and the dominantlearning method was Assimilator (42%). Other styles with a regard to their frequency were Diverge (24%), Coverage (22%)and Accommodator (12%). In the present study,no statistically significant relationship was found in learning styles between the gender (p= 0.644)and average (p = 0.676)of the students.ConclusionAssimilator and Diverge methods were the most common ones among the management students. Hence, to improve the quality of learning in this group of students, it is proposed that the teachers use interactive and creative teaching methods such as small and la rge group discussion,brain storming, problem solving, debate-based learning, self-learning and lecturing.Keywords: learning styles, Kolb, Health system management students

زمینه و اهدافدر بین مایتهای گرد و غبار خانگیDermatophagoides pteronyssinus و Dermatophagoides farinae در نقاط مختلف دنیا نقش مهمی بعنوان آلرژن در رابطه با آسم، رینیت آلرژیک و سایر بیماری های آلرژیک ایفا می کنند. از اینرو در این مطالعه حساسیت بیماران آسم و رینیت آلرژیک به مایتهای گرد و غبار خانگی در شهر تبریز مورد مطالعه قرار گرفته است.روش بررسیسرم خون 101 بیمار دارای سابقه بیماری آلرژیک که توسط پزشک متخصص معرفی شده بودند از نظر وجود Immunoglobulin E (IgE) اختصاصی علیه مایتهای گرد و غبار خانگی با روش ایمونولوژیکی Radio Allergo Immuno Sorbent Test، RAST مورد آزمایش قرار گرفتند.یافته هااز101 بیمار، 60 نفر(41/59 %) فقط دارای آسم، 15 نفر (85/14 %) فقط دارای رینیت آلرژیک و26 نفر (74/25 %) دارای سابقه هر دو بیماری بودند. از 101 بیمار فوق الذکر سرم خون 11 نفر (89/10 %) علیه مایتهای گرد و غبار خانگیIgE+ تشخیص داده شدند. نسبت حساسیت بیماران به آلرژنهای D. pteronyssinus و D. farinae به ترتیب 92/7 % و 97/2 % بود. در بین افراد کنترل که از نظر جنس و سن با بیماران جور بودند فقط 7 مورد (7 %)IgE+ تشخیص داده شدند. نسبت حساسیت در افراد کنترل به مایتهای D. pteronyssinus و D. farinae به ترتیب 5 % و 2 % بود.نتیجه گیریرابطه معنی داری بین گروه های سنی و موارد IgE+، نوع بیماری آلرژیک و وجود IgE ضد مایت، جنس و موارد IgE+ و بالاخره بیماری آلرژیک و نوع مایت وجود ندارد. یکی از دلایل مهم در پائین بودن میزان حساسیت بیماران آلرژیکی به مایتهای گرد و غبار خانگی در این مطالعه در مقایسه با مطالعات انجام گرفته قبلی در جهان پایین بودن میانگین رطوبت نسبی می باشد.

Therefore in this study, we studied the sensitivity of asthmatic and rhinitis allergic patients to house dust mites.Materials And MethodsIn this prospective study Sera of 101 patients with positive history of allergic diseases were studied. Serum was tested for specific IgE antibody against dust mites using RAST tests (Radio Allergo Immuno Sorbent Test).ResultsAmong 101 patients, 60 (59.41%) were asthmatic, 15 (14.85%) had allergic rhinitis and 26 (25.74 %) had the history of both disease. Eleven of these patients (11/101, 10.89%) had positive results for IgE antibody against mites. The sensitivity rate of patients to D. pteronyssinus and D.farinae were 7.92% and 2.97% respectively. Among the control only 7 patients (7%) had positive results for antimite IgE antibody. The sensitivity rate of the control group toward the aforementioned dust mites allergens were 5% and 2% respectively, and there was no significant difference between the results of cases and controls.ConclusionWe didn’t find a higher sensitivity rates to dust mites in allergic patients compared with normal individuals. We believe that low humidity was the plausible cause of low sensitivity rate to house dust mite in our allergic patients.
