Journal of Optimization in Industrial Engineering, Volume:16 Issue: 35, Summer and Autumn 2023, PP 15 -40During the crisis, relief supply chain management (also known as humanitarian supply chain management) has received great attention these days. The core questions facing many humanitarian organizations are: where are their strengths/weaknesses? Are they positioned to be effective in their supply chain system? What challenges do you need to overcome? What do they need to do to take advantage of the technological opportunities offered nowadays? These questions have been addressed them extensively during the past two decades. This paper tries to review and classify some of the papers carried out in key areas of the humanitarian supply chain such as location, certainty and uncertainty, relief teams and injured (patient) classification, machine learning, queue theory, the employed research methods, solution methods, and the type of objective functions. The paper begins first to define what the “humanitarian” ecosystem may include, and which actors play important roles. After, certain critical views of the humanitarian relief supply chain are examined. Journal of Quality Engineering and Production Optimization, Volume:7 Issue: 2, Summer-Autumn 2022, PP 60 -92This paper addresses optimal locating healthcare facilities problem regarding the essential role of these systems on expense and equity at the strategic level to decision-makers. As a result, a multi-objective model with a hierarchical structure and congestion consideration is proposed for the location issue, which is the main contribution of this study. A mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) model is developed to reduce overall system expenses, such as setup, operating, travel costs, and total waiting time at facility levels, while concurrently maximizing the number of covered patients. Furthermore, two M/M/1/K and M/M/C/K queue systems are utilized at facility levels. Then, two LP-metric and Augmented epsilon-constraint methods are implied. Several examples are conducted and evaluated using statistical tests and the TOPSIS approach to assess the performance of the solution strategies. After that, a sensitivity analysis is carried out. The findings indicate that the proposed model may be used as a tool to assist decision-makers in the design of multi-level healthcare facilities.Keywords: Hierarchical Location, Queue Theory, Multi-Objective, Augmented epsilon-Constraint, LP-metric, Uncertainty

One of the most popular and widely applied protocols on multimedia networks is the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) to create, modify, and terminate the sessions. SIP is the platform of Next Generation Networks (NGN). In this way, SIP should be able to respond to the needs of such a largely-used network. One of the major problems in SIP networks is overload. This challenge creates a sharp drop in quality of service for NGN users. In this regard, many studies have been conducted on the effectiveness of this protocol, especially under overload. A new analytical model is developed that prioritizes the SIP message processing. An analytical approach is proposed based on the Mean Value Analysis (MVA) algorithm in queue theory. Considering some appropriate assumptions customizing MVA as to implement this proposed model and to cope with the limitations of the MVA is highly essential. The output of the analytical model is compared with the standard SIP model obtained from the simulator and the results confirm that prioritizing original messages would enhance the SIP performance at different load conditions. Prioritization of original messages is advantageous, and outperforms the normal SIP. Nevertheless, prioritizing the repeated messages not only has no advantage, but also its performance is less than the normal SIP.

پردازش لبه موبایل یک فناوری نوظهور است که به کاربران اجازه می دهد، برای غلبه بر محدودیت های گوشی های موبایل، به جای ارسال بخشی از برنامه به سمت سرور ابری که در فاصله بسیار دور نسبت به کاربران شبکه قرارگرفته است، آن را به سرور لبه ارسال کنند تا بتوانند بر تاخیر بالای پردازش ابری که موجب افت کیفیت سرویس دهی می شود، غلبه کنند. در این مقاله، سیستمی شامل یک سلول و چندین کاربر مطرح شده است که کاربران شبکه برای انجام پردازش خود از سرورهای ابری و لبه که با هم در مشارکت هستند؛ تقاضای سرویس می کنند. نحوه دسترسی کاربران به طیف رادیویی، به صورت دسترسی چندگانه نامتعامد فرض می شود و برای مدل سازی مسئله در سمت کاربر و سرورها، از تیوری صف استفاده شده است. هدف اصلی این است که در شبکه، مجموع انرژی مصرف شده توسط کاربران، تاخیر دریافت سرویس کاربران و هزینه کل استفاده از سرورها را حداقل کنیم. مدل سازی ریاضی این مسیله، منجر به یک مسئله نامحدب مقید چند هدفه خواهد شد. از روش SCA برای به دست آوردن جواب بهینه سراسری، استفاده می شود. با استفاده از نتایج شبیه سازی نشان داده می شود که با فرضیات واردشده در مدل پیشنهادی، میزان انرژی، تاخیر و هزینه کل شبکه در حدود 50 درصد کاهش پیدا می کند.

In this paper, a system which consists of a cell and several users is considered in which the network users to accomplish their computations request service from cloud and edge servers that are participating with each other. It is assumed that the users access the radio spectrum by a Non-orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) method and the queue theory is used for modeling the problem from the users and server sides. The main goal is to minimize the total users' energy consumption, the delay in users' receiving service, and the whole cost of using servers. The mathematical model of this problem would result in a multi-objective constraint non-convex optimization problem. SCA method is used to achieve the globally optimum solution. Through the simulation results, it is shown that by the applied assumptions in the proposed model, the amount of energy, delay and total cost of network is decreased around 50%.

هدف اصلی این مقاله بررسی تاثیر ظرفیت بر روی پارامترهای صف است تا با ایجاد تغییر مناسب در ظرفیت بزرگراه بتوان به کارایی راه کمک کرد و تاخیر ناشی از ایجاد صف را کاهش داد. در این پژوهش یک مدل صف قطعی ارایه می شود که بتوانند تاثیر تغییرات ظرفیت گلوگاه آزادراه بر تاخیر های کاربران را برآورد نماید. فرمول بندی یک مساله کلی بر مبنای نظریه صف قطعی انجام و با روش عددی نیز حل شده است. سپس یک مساله نمونه با استفاده از برنامه کامپیوتری کدنویسی و حل گردیده است و در انتها تحلیل حساسیت بر روی تغییرات ظرفیت صورت گرفته است. نتایج این پژوهش نشان می دهد که شاخص های کارایی صف با افزایش ظرفیت بهبود می یابد. با بررسی موردی هر راه و انجام چنین تحلیل حساسیتی بر روی آن به همراه اعمال سیاست مناسب که موجب تغییر ظرفیت راه شود می توان تاخیر را کاهش و کارایی مسیر را بهبود بخشید. همچنین روش پیشنهادی در این مقاله به فهم بهتر پدیده شکست در بالادست گلوگاه های ترافیک و مدل های صف کلان کمک می کند و از تحلیل حساسیت صورت گرفته می توان جهت کنترل و مدیریت ترافیک استفاده کرد. با استفاده از روش عددی پیشنهادی در این مقاله می توان برای اشکال مختلف نرخ ورود و خروج ، پارامترهای مربوط به صف در هر سامانه (حتی غیر ترافیکی) را محاسبه کرد و ظرفیتی مناسب با پارامترهای تاخیر مورد انتظار محاسبه نمود.کلید واژگان: آزادراه, تغییر در ظرفیت راه, روش عددی, گلوگاه, نظریه صفThe main purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of capacity on queue parameters, in order to improve the efficiency of the road by creating a proper change in the capacity of the highway and reducing the delay caused by queuing. As a system sends a parameter out of the output at a specified time interval, in other words, the system does not have the ability to service the entire input request, the queue is created and the vehicles must wait for service. In traffic queues, in addition to reducing the quality of the trip, Undesirable effect on traffic flow safety is also pronounced. The demand for the use of the road is variable throughout the day, and unfortunately there is no possibility of storing supplies in transportation. Consequently, in many periods of time, it is not possible to use capacity. It is possible to reduce the delay in the roadway by changing the capacity at different intervals. This involves sensitivity analysis on the effect of the capacity on the delay parameters. In this study, a definite queuing model is presented that can estimate the effect of changes in freeway bottleneck capacity on user delays. The formulation of the general problem is based on the definite queue theory and is solved by numerical analysis. A sample problem is investigated using a computer program. Finally, a sensitive analysis has been made on capacity changes. The results indicate that queue performance indicators improve with increasing capacity. By analyzing each case and performing such a sensitive analysis along with applying a suitable policy that changes the capacity of the way, the delay can be reduced and the route efficiency improved. Moreover, the proposed method helps to improve understanding the failure phenomenon in the upstream of traffic jams and large queuing models, and the sensitive analysis can be used to control traffic management. Using the proposed numerical method for each log entry and exit rate, one can calculate queuing parameters in each system (even non-traffic) and calculate the appropriate capacity with expected latency parameters.Keywords: bottleneck, deterministic queue model, Freeway, Queue theory
