Thirty-four species of oribatid mites (Oribatida), belonging to 29 genera and 14 families, were collected from Saona Island, Southeast Dominican Republic. A new species of the genus Pergalumna—P. (Pergalumna) saonaensis sp. nov.—is described from leaf litter of the mixed forest.

The present study is based on oribatid mite materials collected from the Gambela region, Ethiopia. A list of 41 species, belonging to 30 genera and 20 families, is presented. One new species Scheloribates (Scheloribates) aboboensis Ermilov sp. nov. (Scheloribatidae) is described.

During a comprehensive survey of heterostigmatic mites associated with ground beetles and soil samples in northern and northeastern Iran, several colonies of caroboacarid mites, including three species of the genus Caraboacarus Krczal, 1959, C. stammeri Krczal, 1959, C. karenae Nickel & Elzinga, 1969, and C. krczali Eidelberg, 1994 as well as Minicaraboacarus quadridiscalis Hajiqanbar & Khaustov, 2008 and Intercaraboacarus clivinus Katlav & Hajiqanbar, 2015, were extracted from soil samples and ground beetles of the genera Calosoma Weber, Harpalus Latreille, Amara Bonelli and Scarites Fabricius in the sampling area. The world distribution and host specificity are examined.

The present study is based on oribatid mite material collected from five locations in Eastern Guatemala. A list of 98species, belonging to 68 genera and 43 families, is presented; 70 species are recorded for the first time in Guatemalan fauna.A new species of genus Pergalumna,P. paraobsidianasp. nov.is described from rainforest litter.

The larvae of certain species in the Noctuidae family cause significant economic damage annually. Due to the importance of this group, specimens of the subfamily Noctuinae, specifically from the tribe Leucaniini, collected from the Fars, Ilam, Kerman and Khuzestan provinces were studied. As a result, among the nine identified and studied species from the genera Mythimna and Leucania, four species from Khuzestan province, three species from Ilam province and one species from Fars province were registered as new provincial records. Additionally, the distribution of Leucania (Leucania) herrichii Herrich-Schäffer, 1849 was confirmed for the first time in Iran. Further studies on this tribe in different parts of Iran are recommended.

Caenis ulmeriana Malzacher, 2015 is recorded for the first time from the Western Ghats, India. Prior records of this species encompass Java, Sumatra, Thailand, Myanmar, and the Philippines. Notably, the Indian population of C. ulmeriana showcases variability, including slight changes in the shape of forceps in the male subimago and increased denticulation in the midclaw, a reduced number of setae in the Y-ridge of tergalius II, and differing shape of sternum IX in the larvae compared to other continental and island populations. The species number of Caenis Stephens, 1835 has now increased to twelve in India. A distributional map detailing the range of C. ulmeriana in the Oriental region is also provided herein.

Here we report the presence of Cybocephalus nipponicus Endrödy-Younga, 1971 from Iran, which has been collected on mulberry in Gilan province, as well as on bitter orange and Japanese spindle in Mazandaran province, northern Iran. The specimens were collected while feeding on scale insects, Pseudaulacaspis pentagona (Targioni Tozzetti, 1886), Unaspis euonymi (Comstock, 1881) and Lepidosaphes gloveri (Packard, 1869) (Hemiptera: Diaspididae). Photos of habitus and genitalia with some taxonomic comments are presented.

زیرخانواده Alysiinae یکی از تخصص یافته ترین و متنوع ترین پارازیتوئیدهای داخلی دوبالان است. مقاله حاضر اطلاعات تکمیلی در مورد زیرخانواده Alysiinae در ایران ارائه می دهد. نمونه ها با استفاده از تله های مالیز طی در ماه های اردیبهشت تا شهریور 1389 جمع آوری شدند. جنس Grammospila Foerster, 1863 و چهار گونه برای اولین بار از ایران گزارش شد: Dacnusa maculipes Thomson, 1895، D. plantaginis Griffiths,1966، Grammospila fuscula Griffiths, 1968 و G. rufiventris Nees, 1812. با احتساب یافته های این تحقیق، تعداد گونه های جنس Dacnusa و Grammospila به ترتیب به 22 و 2 گونه در ایران افزایش یافت. خصوصیات تشخیصی و پراکنش گونه های تازه ثبت شده و لیست به روز شدهDacnusa و Grammospila ارائه شده است.

The present paper provides additional information on the subfamily Alysiinae in Iran. The specimens were collected using Malaise traps during May - September 2010. The genus Grammospila Foerster, 1863, and four species of Alysiini were discovered for the first time from Iran: Grammospila fuscula Griffiths, 1968, G. rufiventris Nees, 1812, Dacnusa maculipes Thomson, 1895 and D. plantaginis Griffiths, 1966. Including our findings, the number of species of the genera Dacnusa and Grammospila are raised to 22 and 2 species in Iran, respectively. Diagnostic characters and distribution of the newly recorded species and an updated list of Dacnusa and Grammospila are provided.

در سال 1402 نمونه هایی از برگ و سرشاخه های خرمالوی وحشی (Diospyros lotus L.) آلوده به کنه های پهن خانواده تارسونمیده (Tarsonemidae) از شهرستان رشت، استان گیلان جمع آوری شدند. پس از تهیه اسلایدهای میکروسکوپی از نمونه ها ، کنه ها با استفاده از منابع معتبر تاکسونومیک شناسایی شدند. برای اولین بار گونه Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks, 1904) از روی خرمالوی وحشی از استان گیلان شناسایی شد. علائم خسارت این کنه به صورت بدشکلی، پیچیدگی، تیره و ضخیم شدن برگ و بدشکلی سرشاخه ها و جوانه ها مشاهده شد. خسارت این آفت روی سرشاخه ها و برگ های جوان بسیار شدید است. این اولین گزارش از وجود کنه پهن زرد (Polyphagotarsonemus latus) روی خرمالوی وحشی در ایران است. همچنین، کنه های شکارگر زیر نیز همراه با این کنه آفت از روی خرمالوی وحشی جمع آوری و شناسایی شدند.

After preparation of microscopic slide from mite specimens, they were identified using reliable taxonomic references. Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks, 1904) was identified for the first time from Guilan province on lilac persimmon. The damage symptoms of this pest mite were observed in the form of deformity, curling, darkness, and thickening of leaves and deformity of branches and buds. The damage of this pest is severe on the branches and young leaves. This is the first report of the presence of yellow broad mite (Polyphagotarsonemus latus) on lilac persimmon in Iran. The following predator mites were also collected and identified in association with this pest mite on lilac persimmon.

The thrips fauna of Jammu and Kashmir is known for 21 species of suborder Terebrantia, while there are no known species of suborder Tubulifera till now. Two Phaleothripid genera, Bolothrips Priesner of the subfamily Idolothripinae and Cephalothrips Uzel of the subfamily Phaleothripinae are reported for the first time from India as well as for the Oriental region. These include Bolothrips dentipes (Reuter) and Cephalothrips monilicornis Uzel, and were collected in the year 1984 from Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) on grasses. Detailed diagnostic notes, material examined, distribution, and illustrations for these new records are also provided. Furthermore, the thrips fauna of Jammu and Kashmir has not been thoroughly studied, necessitating additional surveys to identify thrips species in this unexplored region.

Baetiella muchei (Braasch, 1978) is recorded for the first time from the Neeru stream of Jammu and Kashmir, India. The variability in larval characters such as size, the shape of the labrum, and the number of the sub-marginal arc of setae in the labrum differs from 12 to 22, degree of fusion of the mandibular incisors, spines on the distal margin of the tergites, distal margin of the paraproct, and the length of cerci are observed from the Indian population when compared to the type specimens. The species number of Baetiella Uéno, 1931 has now increased to six in India. A distributional map of this species is also provided.

Six Collembola species from five families and two orders are for the first time recorded from India. All the described new records are mainly from two states, West Bengal and Arunachal Pradesh and collected from the surveys conducted in the Eastern Himalayan Region. Sphyrotheca multifasciata (Reuter, 1881) (Sminthuridae), Sminthurinus bimaculatus Axelson, 1902 (Katiannidae), Dicranocentrus nepalensis Mari Mutt & Bhattacharjee, 1980 (Orchesellidae), Isotomurus plumosus Bagnall, 1940 (Isotomidae), Isotomurus pseudopalustris Carapelli, Frati, Fanciulli & Dallai, 2001, (Isotomidae), Willowsia jacobsoni (Börner, 1913) (Entomobryidae), are the Collembola species whose occurrence is first time observed in India. As a result of the present work Collembola fauna of India reached up to 348 species. Material examined, a brief description and microscopic images of the new records are provided in the present study.

New faunistic and taxonomic data are provided for 18 families of Iranian spiders. Four species, Cryptodrassus liyanicus Zamani & Marusik, sp. n. (♀, Bushehr Province; Gnaphosidae), Mesiotelus khorasanicus Zamani & Marusik, sp. n. (♂♀, Razavi Khorasan Province; Liocranidae), Nurscia minuscula Zamani & Marusik, sp. n. (♀, West Azerbaijan Province; Titanoecidae) and Talanites farsensis Zamani & Marusik, sp. n. (♀, Fars Province; Gnaphosidae), are described as new to science. Clubiona liachviana Mcheidze, 1997 stat. reval. (Clubionidae) is removed from the synonymy with C. alpicola Kulczyński, 1882 and is reported from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Iran and Turkmenistan for the first time; additionally, its previously unknown male is described. The genus Kishidaia Yaginuma, 1960 (Gnaphosidae) and a total of 10 species are recorded in Iran for the first time, and new provincial records are provided for 20 species. Two specimens from Iraq are also reported. Considering the results of this paper, the number of species of spiders known from Iran is increased to 980 species in 329 genera.

طی بازدیدهای انجام شده در شهریور و مهر ماه سال 1401، لاروهای نوعی شب پره در تعدادی از مزارع ذرت شهرستان ارزوئیه واقع در استان کرمان، در حال تغذیه از برگ ها، خوشه ها و دانه های گیاه میزبان مشاهده شدند. لاروهای جمع آوری شده تا زمان خروج حشرات کامل در آزمایشگاه نگهداری شده و پس از بررسی نمونه های پرورش داده شده و افراد بالغ جمع آوری شده در مزارع، با نام Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith) که به کرم برگ خوار پاییزه معروف است، شناسایی شدند. این آفت که تا پیش از این گزارش جزو آفات قرنطینه خارجی محسوب می شد، برای اولین بار از ایران گزارش می شود.کلید واژگان: آفت قرنطینه خارجی, گزارش جدید, ایرانDuring the monitoring of some corn fields in the Orzuiye region, Kerman Province, in October 2023, several moths’ larvae were observed while feeding on leaves, spikes and seeds of the host plant. The collected larvae were reared under laboratory conditions until emerging the adults. After examining the reared specimens and the collected adult moths, they were identified as Spodoptera frugiperda (J. E. Smith) which is known as fall armyworm. در سال 1402 یک سوسک از خانواده Ptiliidae از روی شاخه و برگ درخت سرخدار Taxus baccata L. (Taxaceae) از رحیم آباد، شهرستان رودسر، استان گیلان، شمال ایرن، جمع آوری و شناسایی شد. بعد از مکاتبه با متخصصین خانواده Ptiliidae، گونه سوسک جمع آوری شده Acrotrichis montandonii (Allibert, 1844) (Coleoptera: Ptiliidae) تعیین شد. این اولین گزارش از گونه A. montandonii از ایران است.

This is the first report of A. montandonii from Iran.

The genus Tricondylomimus Chopard, 1930 (Mantodea, Gonypetidae) is reported for the first time from India with the species T. coomani Chopard, 1930, based on a female specimen collected from Namdapha National Park, Arunachal Pradesh, India. This species was earlier reported only from Vietnam in the Oriental region. This is the third species of the tribe Iridopterigini (Gonypetidae, Iridopteriginae) that occurred in India. The extension in the distribution of the genus points to the high chances of T. coomani being reported from adjacent countries like Myanmar, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. The geographical distribution of T. coomani and its resemblance with another group of insects is briefly discussed.

The present study reports new records of the Collembola (Arthropoda: Hexapoda) from the Bula Hyrcanian forest located in Mazandaran province, north of Iran. The results show two genera Spatulosminthurus Betsch & Betsch-Pinot, 1984 (Sminthuridae) and Wankeliella Rusek, 1975 (Tullbergiidae) and five species including Anurophorus alpinus Potapov & Stebaeva, 1990 (Isotomidae), Pseudosinella cf. decipiens Denis, 1924 and P. immaculata (Lie Pettersen, 1896) (Entomobryidae), Superodontella tyverica Kaprus, 2009 (Odontellidae), and Wankeliella bescidica Smolis & Skarżyński, 2004 (Tullbergiidae) are new records for Collembola fauna of Iran.

The species of the genus Dusona Cameron, 1901 (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Campopleginae) are studied in four provinces of Iran (Mazandaran, Guilan, Alborz and Fars). Specimens were collected using Malaise traps during 2010–2012. Eight species of Dusona were collected and identified, among them three species, D. libertatis (Teunissen, 1947), D. limnobia (Thomson, 1887), and D. disclusa (Förster, 1868) represent new records for the fauna of Iran. Morphological characteristics of the newly recorded species are illustrated. Additionally, an updated checklist of Dusona species known from Iran is provided, along with zoogeographical distribution maps for all species collected in this study.

شب پره بزرگ خرما Aphomia sabella Hampson (Lep. : Pyralidae) یکی از آفات نخل خرما در مناطق خرماخیز کشور می باشد. در سال های اخیر مشاهدات صحرایی و گزارش نخل داران نشان می دهد خسارت کرم گرده خوار در استان خوزستان بسیار افزایش یافته و سالانه خسارت اقتصادی به نخل خرما در ابتدای فصل رشد وارد می نماید. طی نمونه برداری در آذر و دی ماه سال 1399روی پاجوش های جوان رقم برخی در آبادان، تغذیه و فعالیت لاروهای آفت بررسی گردید. با بررسی دقیق تعداد زیادی از پاجوش ها و نیز کالبدشکافی محل خسارت، دالان های لاروی همراه با فضولات و تارهای لاروی دربافت سفت و چوبی کرب های داخلی پاجوش مشاهده گردید. خروج شیره گیاهی از محل تغذیه، حضور تار و فضولات لاروی سبب آلودگی و در جمعیت زیاد به دلیل فعالیت دو تا سه لارو روی یک کرب، سبب ضعف و ازبین رفتن کرب های پاجوش شد. این اولین گزارش از فعالیت چوب خواری لاروهای کرم گرده خوار خرما و خسارت آن ها روی کرب پاجوش خرما در ایران است.

In this study, the feeding activity of overwintering larvae of A. sabella on wooden texture of young offshoots, varieties Barhi, during winter in December and January 2021, is reported. Due to the feeding activities of larvae under the bark, burrowing into the base of fronds in the lower section of offshoots, the exit of plant sap from the feeding place, presence of larval webs and excrement cause pollution. In the offshoot and samples with a large populations, the activity of two or three simultaneously on crabs, causes weakness and destruction of crabs. In this study, the feeding activity of A. sabella larvae on fresh wounds of the offshoot and their presence in winter in this section of date palm are reported for the first time in Iran.

سوسک های سرخرطومی خانواده Curculionidae به عنوان بزرگترین خانواده از راسته سخت بالپوشان تنوع گونه ای زیادی دارند. اغلب گونه-های این خانواده گیاهخوار بوده و رژیم غذایی گوناگونی دارند. سوسک های سرخرطومی هر ساله خسارت زیادی را وارد می کنند و با توجه به اهمیت اقتصادی گونه های این خانواده شناسایی و اطلاع از فراوانی و پراکنش آن اهمیت بسیار زیادی دارد. مطالعه حاضر با هدف شناسایی فون سرخرطومی های دو زیر خانواده مهم شامل Schonherr, 1823 Lixinae و Curculioninae Latreille, 1802 در نقاط مختلف مراتع سه استان آذربایجان شرقی، اصفهان و کرمان انجام شد. نمونه برداری از مناطق مختلف سه استان در سال های 1398-1401 با روش های مختلف از جمله استفاده از تور حشره گیری، مشاهده مستقیم و استفاده از تله های گودالی انجام شد. نمونه های جمع آوری شده با استفاده از کلید های ریخت شناختی شناسایی در این بررسی، از 856 نمونه جمع آوری شده، 22 گونه سرخرطومی متعلق به 14 جنس و 2 زیرخانواده شناسایی شده است. از میان گونه های جمع آوری شده گونه های Cionus leonhardi Wingelmüller, 1914 ، Cleopus solani Fabricius,1792 و Anthonomus humeralis Panzer,1795 از استان آذربایجان شرقی و از روی میزبان های مختلف Verbascum lychnitis و Carthamus sp. جمع آوری و برای نخستین بار برای فون ایران گزارش می شوند. با توجه به اهمیت اقتصادی این خانواده از سخت بالپوشان و زیاد بودن تنوع گیاهی میزبان های آنها، ضرورت دارد در آینده در مورد تنوع زیستی سرخرطومی های خانواده Curculionidae مطالعات پژوهشی به صورت جامع انجام شود.کلید واژگان: سرخرطومی, سخت بالپوشان, گزارش جدید, مراتع, ایرانSnout beetles or weevils belong to the family Curculionidae which includes more than 50000 known species in the world. This highly diverse family is considered the largest family in Coleoptera. Most weevil species are herbivorous with a wide host range and feed on different parts of the host plant. They cause high damage annually in agriculture and rangelands, The current study focuses on the investigation and identification of snout beetles of two subfamilies including Lixinae Schonherr 1823 and Curculioninane Latreille 1802 in different parts of rangelands of Iran. During 2018 -2022 sampling was done by direct observation and using pitfall traps in three different provinces such as Isfahan, Kerman, and Azerbaijan. Collected specimens identified by relevant morphological key identification and confirmed by Boris Korotyaev (Russian Academy of Science). Totally 22 species belong to 14 genera and 2 subfamilies were identified. The results of the study showed among the identified species there are three species considered as new records for the fauna of Iran. New records of species including Cionus leonhardi (Wingelmüller, 1914) collected on Verbascum lychnitis in Isfahan, Cleopus solani (Fabricius, 1792), and Anthonomus humeralis (Panzer1795) on Carthamus sp. from East Azerbaijan provinces., University of Tehran. According to the economic importance of this family and high host plant diversity, more studies on Curculionidae biodiversity need to be done in the future.Keywords: Curculionidae, Snout Beetle, New Record, Iran, Rangelands
