BACKGROUNDAtrial septal defect (ASD) accounts for about 10% of congenital heart diseases (CHDs). Self-closure of these defects in patients with defects less than 8 mm has been reported in several studies. In children, transcatheter closure of the ASD is suggested for asymptomatic patients older than two years and with weight > 15 kg. The purpose of this study was to show that transcatheter closure of ASD in small children with body weight less than 10 kg is an effective and safe method.METHODSBetween July 2016 and September 2018, 35 children with body weight less than 10 kg underwent percutaneous closure of ASD using amplatzer. All patients had minimum defect size of 6 mm, pulmonary blood flow (Qp) to systemic blood flow (Qs) ratio above 1.5, right atrial and ventricular dilation, symptoms of delayed growth, and recurrent respiratory infections in their evaluation and had acceptable rims for intervention. Follow-up evaluations were done 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 6 months, and yearly after discharge with transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and electrocardiography (ECG).RESULTSThe mean age of patients at procedure was 12.06 ± 4.47 months (range: 6 to 14 months), mean weight was 8.32 ± 0.72 kg (range: 7.5 to 9.8 kg). The mean defect size was 10.00 ± 2.32 mm (range: 6-13 mm). The mean device size used was 10.57 ± 2.57 mm (range: 7.5 to 15 mm). Mean duration of follow-up was 16.66 ± 6.93 months (range: 1-29 months). Respiratory rate, heart rate, pulmonary stenosis (PS), and Qp to Qs ratio had significant difference before and after procedure during the follow up (P < 0.001).CONCLUSIONTranscatheter closure of ASD with amplatzer in symptomatic small children and infants is a safe and effective treatment associated with excellent success, but long-term followup in a large number of patients would be warranted. Keywords: Atrial Septal Defect, Devices, Septal Occluder

BackgroundNosocomial infections has always been a major problem for health care and lead to increases in morbidity and mortality in hospitalized patients. The aim of this study was to determine the contamination of personnel and hospital environment and device with nosocomial infections pathogens.MethodsWet swab was used to sampling from the hospital personnel and equipment in different wards of a hospital in Isfahan, Iran. Culture and isolation of strains were done according to the standard microbial methods. Identification was based on gram staining, microbial and biochemical tests.ResultsOverall 236 samples; 123 and 113 samples were collected from 91 hospital personnel and hospital environment and devices respectively. S. aureus was isolated from 14.2%, 15.3% and 5.4% of personnel hands, uniform and throat respectively. The cases of Enterobacteriaceae were isolated from personnel hands, uniform and throat as 13.9%, 4.3% and 3.27% respectively. P. aeruginosa was isolated from personnel hands (4.3%), uniform (6.5%) and throat (6.5%).ConclusionS. aureus, Enterobacteriaceae and P. aeruginosa were the most prevalence bacteria that isolated from the personnel hands, uniforms, throats and hospital environment and devices. Personnel hands were the most contaminated part considering both the numbers and diversity in isolated organisms. Contamination of the hospital personnel and hospital environment and devices have a main role in dispersion of the nosocomial pathogens in hospital environment. With a good hygienic administration and an excellent healthy management planning in hospitals can be inhibit the dispersion of nosocomial pathogens in hospitals environment. Keywords: Hospital environment, devices, Hospital personnel, Microbial Pathogens, Nosocomial infections

Knowing the threats and risks of mobile devices and information security leads to a better management and reduction in the negative consequences of problems. The purpose of this study was to identify threats and security risks of information associated with using mobile devices in health domain.
MethodThis article is a narrative review. We searched keywords related to information security of mobile devices in the field of health through related databases, in Persian and English language articles published from 2005 to 2014. Also related articles in the selected articles list have been analyzed. Then the most important threats and dangers have been recognized and presented in a systematic way.
ResultsAccording to this survey, the main security risks of mobile devices in the field of health generally included 16 cases. Some of these cases could be the mobile devices being lost or stolen, targeted threats of hackers, and malware.
ConclusionThe health organizations need to consider all security challenges about mobile devices, especially those related to security. Thus they can take full advantage of these tools consciously.
