Cataract disorder is one of the most common vision disorders in the world. As the average age of the world population increases, many people suffer from it in middle and old age. Timely diagnosis can prevent the reduction of vision and eventually loss of sight. Considering the prevalence of Artificial Intelligence algorithms, especially in the medical industry, they could be used for Cataract diagnosis, IOL determination, and PCO diagnosis. According to the studies, the proposed models for Cataract diagnosis are very accurate. These developed algorithms have been able to make access to ophthalmology services easier and reduce treatment costs significantly.

    Objective
There is evidence for genetics components in PCOS based on familial clustering of cases. We examined the contribution of genetics impact and some lipid/serum profiles to PCOS in a cohort study of Iranian twins.
    Materials And Methods
As a prominent predisposing risk factor for PCOS, serum lipid profiles (Triglyceride, Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, Apo lipoprotein A–I, Apo lipoprotein B and lipoprotein A), were analyzed in 154 subjects of PCOS. The diagnosis of PCOS has been based on the Rotterdam consensus criteria in this study. We also studied 16 identical twin pairs discordant for PCOS to evaluate the effects of environmental risk factors (including lipid indices profiles) for PCOS. Furthermore, we compared these 16 twin pairs with PCOS, in which just 15 (93.75%) of them was concordant for abnormal lipid profiles. Also the impact of lipid profile in patients with PCOS was confirmed by comparing total 22 identical and non-identical twin pairs, in which 21 out of them (95.45%) showed abnormal lipid profiles.
    Result
PCOS and increased cholesterol level were higher in identical versus non-identical twins with concordance rates of 1.5 and 1.65 (based on the Rotterdam consensus criteria), respectively. Analysis of identical pairs showed weak association between impact of lipid profile and PCOS while in non-identical pairs, the PCOS was associated with an increased environmental risk (lipid profile).
    Conclusion
Different lipid indices were affected by environmental and genetic risk factors in PCOS, but the contribution of environmental and genetic factors to the various PCOS-related changes in ovarian structures remains to be established.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most frequent cause of female infertility, affecting about 4% to 8% of women in the age of procreation. For evaluation the protective effects of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid on ovarian structure in experimental PCO induced by estradiol-valerat, this research was done.
    Materials And Methods
Wistar female rats (n=40) were allocated into four groups, one control (n=10) and three test groups (n=30), that one group received omega-3 (60 mg/rat/orally/daily), second and third groups were induced PCO by single injection of estradiol-valerate (16mg/ kg/ i.m), third group also received omega-3 (240 mg/kg) for 60 consequence days. Animals were kept in standard conditions. On day 60, the ovarian tissue of Rats in whole groups were removed and prepared for pathological analysis.
    Results
vacuolated area and rough endoplasmic reticulum expanded, de-granulated, disorganized were seen in PCO groups; however, these side effects decreased in the groups that received omega-3 significantly (p<0.05) in comparison to experiment groups and ovarian weights in PCO experimental decreased significantly (p<0.05).
    Conclusion
Results revealed that administration of omega-3 could significantly treat PCO. This suggested that polyunsaturated fatty acid could diminish negative side effects of PCO on ovary tissue.

To determine the prevalence of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in women who exercise regularly.
All women under age 45 from an industrial company who had past history of exercising more than 6 months enrolled in this cross-sectional study. Prevalence of PCOS and comparison of BMI between PCOS and non-PCOS subgroups was done. The diagnosis of PCOS was based on the revised 2003 Rotterdam ESHRE/ASRM consensus criteria and exclusion of related disorders.
    0.5).
Obese PCOS patients show more difficulty in losing weight by exercise than lean PCOS patients. The role of hormonal alterations and PCOS per se in the responsiveness of weight loss to exercise remains to be determined.

    Background

Infertility affects about 10-15% of reproductive-age couples. About half the causes ofinfertility are female related and approximately 40% of the cases are caused by anovulation, mostlyin PCO women.

    Objective

This study was conducted to determine and compare the effects of two drug treatmentregimens: higher dose of clomiphene and a combination of lower dose of clomiphene and tamoxifenin treating infertile women with PCO.

    Materials And Methods

The study was a randomized clinical trial conducted on 100 infertilepatients who referred to Yazd-Iran Infertility Clinic between the years 2001-2003. The patientswere selected who had received at least 3 periods of clomiphene, but no pregnancy had occurred. They were randomly divided into two groups. In the first group, clomiphene was increased to 100mg and the second group 20 mg of tamoxifen was added to 50 mg of clomiphene from day 5-9 ofmenstruation cycle. Infertility duration, duration of medicine used, PCT score, endometrialthickness, ovulation, and pregnancy rate were studied in both groups.

    Results

Ovulation rate in clomiphene group was 54.9%; Tamoxifen + clomiphene group was73.5% without significant differences in both groups. (PV = 0.053). Positive pregnancy rate inclomiphene group was 39.2%; clomiphene + tamoxifen group was 61.2% (P value < 0.05), whichcould be concluded that pregnancy rate was higher in clomiphene/tamoxifen group than in theclomiphene group. The presence of a dominant follicle in the two treatment groups in womenbetween 18-24 was not significant, but in women between 25-39 years was significant (PV= 0.049)(Table III).

    Conclusion

The recommendation is to add Tamoxifen to Clomiphene in 35-39 women with 20≤BMI ≤26.99 before the use of gonadotropins treatment in PCOS with or without IUI, because theseoptions have higher risk of multiple pregnancy and ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
