Investigating welfare effects of various policies of air pollution changing (Case study: Mashhad)

Air pollution being one aspect of Environmental pollutions led to heart and respiratory diseases, Reduction in vision, eye irritation and damage to plants, animals and objects and in worldwide scale resulted in global warming, stratospheric ozone loss, acid rain etc. By using cross-section data of Mashhad -which gathered through a survey research-, choice modeling approach and nested legit model this study tries to investigate and analyze economical welfare effects of various air pollution policies. Results show that the citizens’ viewpoint about the impact of air pollution on their health is very high. The total value of 30 percent of improvement in any air pollution treat in the high polluted region is equal to 6732108800 Rials per month, and in the median polluted region it’s equal to 4571363850 Rials per month. Consequently 30 percent improvement of Mashhad air pollution has a value equal to 11303472650 Rials per month totally.
