Studying the Effects of Next-to-Road Residential and Commercial Areas on Safety of Rural Roads Using a Mathematical Model
Existence of different next-to-road applications and of buildings, including residential, service, productive and industrial at next to the road has resulted in creation of many junctures at rural roads. These areas are generally located at residential or economic regions with higher density and due to absence of suitable organizationing,; they are have become the main reason for accidents. Therefore, the present research attempts to study effective parameters on safety of rural roads as a result of related to the existence of residential and commercial areas by offeringusing regression models (linear, exponential and poisson Poisson model) and statistical analysis to determine the role of each parameter. One of the most important results of this research is that density of these the next-to-road areas at next to the road results in increasing number of accident and crashes and decreasing road safety. Therefore, optimum performance for of the same surface junctures, planning in relation to construction of installations, properties, residential complexes, industrial and agricultural centers next to the road and, easy access to them, controlcontrolling, management and supervision over these areas may be regardedis considered as an effective suitable step in the way of to decreaseing accidents and, improveing road safety of traveling at roads ofin Iran.
