An Investigtion on the Effects of Career Counseling Using the Coaching Style Approach to Change the Attitudes, and Increase of Psychology Graduates Job Marketand Exploration Skills at Allameh Tabatabaei University

The main objective of this research was to analyze the effects of career counseling using the Coaching Style Approach to change the attitudes and increase the skills senior Psychology students (who were about to graduate) about the job marketand exploration Skills at Allameh Tabatabaei University in Iran, Tehran.For this purpose, sixty senior Psychology students (who had already passed all their classes and were about to graduate, but had not found employment), were selected for an interview using the Coaching Style Approach. Out of these sixty students thirty (17female &13male) were randomly selected to participate in the program. This group of thirty were divided into two groups of fifteen (here called group A and B). Group A were the experimental group and group B were the control group.All thirty students participating in the research answered the designed questionnaires about their attitudes of the job market and job exploration Skills, and were coached to attitudes the job market via and job exploration Skills via the Coaching Style Approach.The statistical method adapted was the Independent T Test which based its calculations on the average difference of points on the pre and post tests.The concluding data were analyzed using the SPSS software. The concluding results indicated that All subjects both in the experimental and the control group showed a meaningful difference in their “new” attitudes of the job market and had learned new job exploration skills after receiving career consultation via the Coaching Style Approach.
