The Comparison of Zahak Characteristic in Shahnameh, Minoye Kherad and Revayat Pahlavi from the Aspect of Mythical-heroic Function

Dahak myth is a significant example of intercourse of myths and multi directional bonds of mythology all over the world. It's a perfect case of transformation and deformation of mythical appearance with all its ancient foundations. An appearance and function of devilish shrews from Vishove Rope, an Aryaee ancient myths about a three head dragon in Rigvoda, to three- head, three- snout, and six-eye dragon in Avesta, and from that to Zahak in Pahlavi and novel Farsi contexts. This myth, as we see, from the origin to the two works of medial eras, i.e. MinoyeKherad and Revayat Pahlavi and from that to Shahnameh has encountered a lot of transformations and evolutions. In this paper it was tried to show the distinctions and similarities of Zahak mythical- heroic characteristic by referring to these documents and comparing them.
