The relationship between life skills and Sari Islamic Azad University female student's self esteem

The main purpose of this research is the study of the relationship between life skills and students’ self esteem. Research method is correlational. The statistical population are all students of Islamic Azad University of Sari in (89-90) academic year and their numbers is about 9850. Using random selection method and based on Kerjcie and Morgan table about 370 student were selected as statistical sample. The data gathering instrument is questionnaire. The statistical methods include descriptive and inferential statistical tests such as frequency, standard deviation, mean, correlation coefficient and regression. Research findings show that there is no significant relationship between life skills and student self esteem. In addition, the relation between self esteem with self awareness, confronting stress, creative and critical thinking skills is not significant. But there is significant relation between self esteem and interpersonal relationship, decision making and critical thinking of the students
